We live above a web of buried utility lines that make modern life possible. Gas, electric, water, sewer, cable and fiber optic lines lay hidden beneath our streets and sidewalks – as well as our lawns.
Training and education for those who work in the underground utility industry is critical to avoid damage to property and disruption of service, not to mention injury and loss of life.
That’s why AEM is once again a supporting organization for the Horizontal Directional Drilling Academy (HDD Academy), set for February 13-14, 2017 in Tempe, Arizona.
The HDD Academy is a project of AEM member Benjamin Media Inc. and Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction, and is led by Samuel T. Ariaratnam, professor and program chair.
The intensive two-day course is designed to equip attendees with knowledge of horizontal directional drilling pre-construction, design and material selection, construction and operations.
