AEMPAC auction now open to text biddersA new, easy-to-use text bidding system will let members participate in this year’s AEMPAC auction even if they can’t attend the annual Gala fundraiser.

All members need to do is text their bids to (201) 559-0943. There is no app to download or lengthy registration process, and there is no need to attend the Gala to participate.

“This year’s selection of a record 40 items has something for everyone,” said Nick Tindall, AEM’s director of government affairs. “Vacation to southern Spain, Yeti Cooler, designer purse, fine wines, Top Gun Air Combat Experience, you name it, we have it!

“And if you don’t find anything you want, remember the holidays are right around the corner. Support AEMPAC and finish your shopping early!”

Here’s How to Bid

Each item has a 3-letter code. To place a bid, simply text the code with the “$” sign and the amount of your bid with no spaces. For example, AAA$250. That’s it! All you’ll be asked upon your first bid is to reply to a text with your name.

Bid on as many items as you want. You will receive alerts when you are outbid and will receive payment and fulfillment instructions if you win.

All bidding ends at 8:30 p.m. PST/10:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, November 17th. You must be an AEM member and a U.S. citizen or have “Permanent Resident” status to bid.

Gala Features Superhero

This year’s AEMPAC Gala, set for November 17th in conjunction with the 2016 AEM Annual Conference, is shaping up to be the best one yet, Tindall said. The on-hotel property location at the Barcara Resort & Spa will maximize attendee time and offers worry-free access to a beautiful venue.

As always, great food and drink await guests, and live action entertainment featuring Santa Barbara’s own superhero will add a little excitement to this premier industry networking event.
