James A. Wessing

James A. Wessing is Vice President of Kondex Corporation. Kondex is a $50+ million manufacturer of precisioncutting components servicing the agricultural, bio-fuels, lawn/turf, construction, and forestry markets.  Kondex has a state-of-the-art 210,000 square foot facility situated on 47 acres in Lomira, Wisconsin.

Jim co-founded Kondex in 1974 and over the next several years Kondex established a market presence, developed personnel, processes, and procedures and became the principal supplier to many smaller agricultural equipment companies.

From 1982 to 1990, Jim served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Kondex. His responsibilities included design and development of sales programs, all marketing activities, and customer development. During these years, Kondex experienced double-digit growth, computerization of many processes, and became a key supplier to all of the large North American agricultural equipment manufacturers.

In 1990, Jim was named Kondex Vice President and General Manager, where his responsibilities included full P&L, sales and marketing, operations, and strategic planning. Major accomplishments included new additions to factory and equipment, many process refinements, administrative and personnel policies, targeted metrics, and large account management.

Jim started his career as a buyer for Gehl Company, West Bend, Wisconsin, where he worked from 1972 to 1974.

Jim Wessing earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin. He is a Trustee of the UW Memorial Union Building Association and is also a member of TEC (The Executive Committee). He was a 9-year board member of the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association (FEMA), where he served as president from 2005 to 2006. Jim is also a past president (three terms) of the Wisconsin Buy Recycled Business Alliance. He has served as a chairperson on his church council for two terms, and a Junior Achievement teacher for five years.

Jim’s awards include FEMA’s Golden Presidents Club Award and C.P. Nicholson Memorial Award. Jim was also awarded the 2000 CCLT Distinguished Graduate as well as 2009 Lomira FBLA Business Person of the Year. He was named Lomira Citizen of the Year for 2014, and received the TEC 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award.
