Farm policy has a major impact on the health of the Ag economy, which is a key driver of manufacturing employment. Congress needs to act this year to reauthorize the Farm Bill, which was last passed in 2014, and which serves as a vital safety net for production agriculture.


Leaders in Congress have begun preliminary work on drafting a new Farm Bill and have expressed their public optimism that they can quickly pass the legislation in 2018. President Trump has also lent his support to quick passage of a Farm Bill, and has voiced his support for protecting important parts of the farm safety net.
