Objective

The Joint Sector Technology Strategy Committee recommends the strategic and operational direction for the membership technology services of AEM.

Responsibilities

  • Review work of Vision Team and recommendations from Futures Council
  • Review recommendations from Sector Technology Leadership groups for Joint Sector opportunities
  • Recommend to the AEM Board strategic technology services and investment for the membership
  • Look outside the industries for technology partners to further technology advancements for the membership

2023 Initial Concepts for Review for Long-Term Strategy

  • Review of the Future of Food and Future of Building White Papers and the subsequent recommendations for AEM services
  • Full telematic data transfer for automated statistics reporting
  • AEMs role in Carbon Markets
  • Accreditation for interoperability and compliance to standards
  • AEMs role in output data (harvest, as built, carbon, etc.)
  • Technology role in equipment and industry sustainability initiatives.

Composition

  • The Joint Sector Technology Strategy Committee would consist of 13 influential members to be bold in recommendations to move into technology services.
  • Future and forward-thinking members.
  • Appointed, approved, and reporting to the AEM Board.
  • The Joint Sector Technology Strategy Committee shall be appointed by the AEM Board and represent a cross-section of the membership in AEM,
  • Only full-time employees of members can serve on the Joint Sector Technology Strategy Committee.
  • Only one member from each company is allowed

Director Profile

  • The Joint Sector Technology Strategy Committee seeks top or high-level executives from member companies to serve, with an emphasis on diversity of product groups, gender, and ethnicity.
  • The Committee also seeks innovative and forward-thinking members whose eye is on the Association and member needs for the Future

Meetings

  • The Joint Sector Technology Strategy Committee will meet as needed to review ideas, criteria for services or review recommendations. They may meet in person in conjunction with the meetings of the AEM Board of Directors in March, July/August, and November, however they may also be efficient and meet virtually.
