Guiding Principles

Council

The Council is comprised of AEM company representatives involved in the parts, service training and customer support functions. The responsibilities of council representatives include being the communication channel between AEM and their companies regarding aftermarket customer support issues, to provide input to the Executive Committee and to participate in activities of the Council. Typical functions represented are service and parts sales and marketing, product support, customer support training, technical publications, warranty administration, parts distribution, parts inventory management, etc.

Mission

The purpose of AEM 's Customer Support Council is to provide a continuing forum whereby member companies can share information regarding industry parts and service trends and information and customer needs related to aftermarket customer support.

Primary Function

The Council serves as a parts, service and training management information resource available to members. It provides a means for member companies to identify and evaluate business issues and concerns in the area of parts, service and training that impact their respective industries and to speak as a collective voice through AEM on these issues and concerns. Services provided by the Council include an annual seminar, a Customer Support Resource Center, a Customer Support Networking Directory and market information surveys.

Leadership

Leadership for the Customer Support Council is provided through the Executive Committee, comprised of no more than 20 members. The committee seats are filled by member company representatives to adequately represent issues, company size and product mix. The Executive Committee is led by a Chairperson and a Vice Chairperson. Additional committees, subcommittees or task forces are appointed as necessary.

Customer Support Council Seminar

The Executive Committee of the Customer Support Council plans and directs the annual Customer Support Council Seminar, AEM's longest running special interest educational event. The seminar -- uniquely designed for parts, service and training executives from manufacturers of agricultural, construction, forestry, materials handling and utility equipment -- focuses on critical industry issues and assisting members to broaden their scope of knowledge and skills in the aftermarket segment of their business.
