Mission

  • This Council provides the strategic and operational direction for AEM’s technical and safety programs, serving as the advocate for tech and safety initiatives in the Association.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize goals and objectives for Tech & Safety issues.
    • Ensure early recognition of emerging Tech & Safety related issues.
    • Determine the strategic direction of the Association’s technical and safety activities and programs.
    • Assist in the development and resourcing of programs to effectively address Tech & Safety related issues.
  • Communicate with the AEM AG and CE Sector Board of Directors on technical matters.
  • Annually review AEM’s financial and staff support of standards activities.
  • Review and approve recommendations for new services and activities.

Membership

  • The TSLC consists of up to 35 members, who serve as chair of an active tech and safety group or as a Standards Technical Advisory Group (TAG) member.
  • The chair may appoint additional “members at large.”
  • Only full-time employees of AEM member companies can serve on the TSLC.

Meetings

  • The Technical and Safety Leadership Council will meet twice a year:  once in person and once via conference call or WebEx. 
  • Additional meetings may be held to focus on specific Sector related prioritization.
  • The chair may also convene a conference call as needed in preparation for the in-person meetings or to address specific issues.
