Brian SeebacherHargrove & Associates (HAI) announces the promotion of Brian Seebacher to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technical Officer, effective July 1.

Seebacher – HAI’s current Vice President and Chief Technology Officer – succeeds Claire Hargrove, who will step down as President but remain with the Minneapolis, Minnesota-based data processing and business analytics company in the role of Executive Advisor starting July 1 through the end of 2020. Seebacher will assume the title of President as well on Jan. 1, 2021.

“Brian’s promotion is a testament to his leadership and the importance of the work he’s done to grow and develop HAI over the years,” said AEM President Dennis Slater. “We also want to thank Claire for her years of service, and for her diligent efforts in deepening the 30-plus-year working relationship between AEM and HAI.”

AEM’s ownership of HAI started in January of 2018. HAI has continued to operate as a stand-alone subsidiary of AEM since that time, helping the association further develop its statistics program by managing iSTAT, the system that collects and publishes critical market benchmarks for AEM member companies.

“The innovative use of data has transformed the manufacturing industry in recent years, and the work done by Claire, Brian and the team at HAI has allowed AEM to enhance and build upon its statistics program and better meet the needs of its membership,” said Slater.

Seebacher – HAI’s lead developer on iSTAT – has been with the company since 1997, serving in various technical, development and consulting capacities. A broad-based technologist, his experience at HAI includes software architecture and development, IT systems design and implementation, database modeling, information security, and business continuity/disaster recovery.

Appointed Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in 2014 by founder Stan Hargrove, Seebacher was part of the leadership team that successfully negotiated the acquisition of HAI by AEM in 2017. As CEO/CTO, Seebacher will oversee the overall strategic business and technical direction of the company. As CTO, he will continue to supervise Project Minneapolis, HAI's core technical platform modernization initiative. In his new capacity as CEO, he will position the company to seek continued growth through its portfolio of trade association consulting and managed services.

Hargrove joined HAI in 1992 after an industry stint as the lead market reporting representative for Komatsu. She has served in many capacities, including the contract lead of HAI's engagement with AEM. Under her steady leadership, the company has remained stable and productive through its transition from a small family business to AEM ownership. She will be turning her attention to facilitating a smooth leadership transition, mentorship of staff and marketing projects.

In addition to providing customer care and support, HAI will continue to collaborate with AEM on projects using advanced data analytics that bring value to the association and its members.
