Julie DavisAEM’s Julie Davis has been named Vice President, People Strategy, effective as of July 1.

Davis, who previously worked as the association’s Senior Director of Workforce and Industry Initiatives, is now tasked with leading the human resources function at AEM. She succeeds Judy Gaus, who retired from the association at the end of June. In addition, Davis will continue to oversee AEM’s workforce activities and initiatives as part of her new leadership role.

“I’m very pleased announce Julie’s well-deserved promotion to Vice President, People Strategy,” said AEM President Megan Tanel. “Her experience driving our workforce efforts, strategic mindset and previous experience managing a non-profit will help our association continue to foster a culture of creativity and growth, as well as ensure AEM remains a fantastic place to work.”

Davis joined AEM in 2019 as the association’s Director of Workforce Development, before taking on expanded duties as AEM’s Senior Director of Workforce and Industry Initiatives. In that role, she worked to connect equipment manufacturing industry professionals to researched and field-tested best practices, as well as helps AEM members find workforce resources, partners and support. In addition, she oversaw other tasks and responsibilities related to the association’s sustainability work.

Prior to joining AEM, Davis worked in corporate training and economic development in northeast Wisconsin before transitioning to working with, then leading, a Boys & Girls Club in Door County, Wisconsin. Davis also graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and was enrolled in the school’s Honors Scholars Program.

“I’m excited to step into this new role and bring the researched recommendations I’ve been sharing with our members into practice inside AEM,” said Davis. “Judy left a strong HR team and legacy of practice, and I’m grateful to have had her mentorship over the last year as we prepared for this transition. I look forward to supporting the association, our employees and our members in the years to come.”
