The need for celebrating manufacturing, educating the public about the value and importance of making things, as well as inspiring the workforce of tomorrow are among the reasons AEM members should observe Manufacturing Day this fall.
Manufacturing Day occurs on the first Friday of October, and it is slated for October 6 this year. Manufacturing Day serves as an opportunity for manufacturers to connect with their local communities – including students, educators, businesspeople, media members and politicians – as part of an effort to educate public at large about careers in the industry and enhance the perception of manufacturing overall.
Now in its sixth year, Manufacturing Day aims to empower manufacturers, improve the reputation of manufacturing, inform people about professional opportunities in the industry, shed light on the important roles manufacturers play in their communities, and underscore both the economic and social significance of manufacturing in today’s modern society.
A toolkit to help member companies plan and hold Manufacturing Day events will be made available in early September. To learn more, contact Abby Lannoye (email@example.com, 414-298-4746).
