BobcatRepresentatives from I Make America, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ (AEM) national grassroots campaign, and Bobcat Company announced the winner of the 2023 CONEXPO-CON/AGG I Make America giveaway. The prize, a Bobcat UV34XL diesel utility vehicle (UTV), was awarded to Superior Industries employee Paul D. Schmigdall, who attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG, North America’s largest trade show, in March and entered the giveaway.

I Make America partnered with Bobcat, a global leader in the compact equipment industry, to promote awareness about its campaign and initiatives through the giveaway for the UTV, which has an estimated value of $21,000.

“As a leading global manufacturer, we believe it’s important to have a voice on important issues happening in our industry,” said Laura Ness Owens, Doosan Bobcat vice president of global brand and North American marketing. “We are committed to supporting efforts that raise the visibility of our industry, and through our partnership with AEM And I Make America, we are working to make a difference in the issues that directly impact manufacturers, companies and people in our industry.”

I Make America, which advocates for policies that support manufacturing jobs and helps America’s manufacturers compete globally, has more than 40,000 supporters. I Make America supporters receive the latest information on critical issues impacting the equipment manufacturing industry – preparing them to advocate for the U.S. equipment manufacturing through outreach to elected officials, participation in online campaigns, and sharing their stories with decision-makers at every level of government.

"On behalf of everyone at our company, let me first express our gratitude to AEM and Bobcat for all of the hard work they do for the betterment of our employees, companies and communities," said Jason Adams, president of Superior Industries. "In particular, AEM, its events, and the relationships we have made with its people over the years are a strong reason for our growth here at Superior. There's no doubt about it. Paul D. Schmigdall's work as chief engineer in our Conveyor Components Division is so valuable to our company, so there's not a better man to receive this wonderful surprise!"

I Make America is fueled by equipment manufacturing industry employees, and their supporters, to make an impact in Washington, D.C. and state capitals across the country. It is through their collective voice that we call on elected officials to support policies that will ensure the economic prosperity of American equipment manufacturing for generations to come,” said Wade Balkonis, director of grassroots advocacy, Association of Equipment Manufacturers. “Because of our supportive member companies, we are able to advocate for pro-manufacturing policies while celebrating the contributions of our industry’s 2.3 million men and women.”

The Bobcat UTV was awarded to Mr. Schmigdall at Superior Industries’ facility in Morris, Minnesota.
