The mixed-fleet telematics standard developed by AEM and the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) has now been published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Please take our quick poll below. We will report the results in next Monday's AEM Industry Advisor.
The new standard (ISO 15143-3), formerly known as the AEM/AEMP Telematics Standard, enables construction companies to gather telematics data into their preferred business or fleet management software from manufacturers who comply with the standard and offer data through the standard’s API (Application Programming Interface) format.
The standard is available to purchase/download at http://www.iso.org/iso/home/store/catalogue_tc/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=67556.
Next steps for the telematics standard will focus on cranes and aerial work platforms (AWPs). AEM staff is currently in the process of scheduling joint OEM and product end-user meetings for early 2017 where discussions will take place concerning additional data that end-users would like to access and what manufacturers can offer.
