Infrastructure Vision 2050 task force welcomes Magnusson as 2017 ChairThe Infrastructure Vision 2050 Task Force welcomes Leif Magnusson as its 2017 Chair. Magnusson is immediate past AEM Chair and president of CLAAS Global Sales Americas Inc.

Magnusson will guide the initiative and play an active role in advocating for a long-term, national plan for U.S. infrastructure with the new Congress and the Trump administration.

“It is an honor to serve as Chair and build upon the impressive work accomplished by the Infrastructure Vision 2050 initiative over the past two years under the direction of Ron De Feo and the other members of the Task Force,” said Magnusson. “America’s infrastructure is the backbone of our economy, and the equipment manufacturing industry is uniquely positioned to advocate for how we will continue to move people, freight and energy in the future.”

Vermeer Corporation President and CEO Jason Andringa, who has been a member of the Task Force since its formation in 2015, will serve as Vice Chair of the Task Force.

The Task Force has approved an ambitious agenda for 2017. Later this spring, the Infrastructure Vision 2050 initiative will unveil a policy framework for how to revitalize U.S. infrastructure.

AEM will also introduce the initiative to attendees at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March; host events at the National Farm Machinery Show in February and the International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) in October; continue its partnerships with think tanks; and accelerate its advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill.
