Colombia's national roads authority Invías received six bids in a tender for a contract to install and operate for five years an electronic toll system in 11 departments.

The contract is to be carried out under a public-private partnership, with required investment estimated at some 149bn pesos (US$49mn).

The contract is tentatively set to be awarded on June 30, Invías said in a release.

The bidders are Colombia's Odinsa Proyectos e Inversiones; Spain's Construcciones Lezo; the local subsidiary of Spain's OHL; China's Shenzhen Sunwin Intelligent; and the Chilean subsidiary of Spain's Sacyr Operación y Servicios.

A joint bid was also submitted by US-firm Thomas Instrument (51%) and Colombian company KMA Construcciones (49%).
