Caterpillar visit concludes 2016 I Make America tourThe I Make America tour visited Caterpillar's iconic headquarters in Peoria, Illinois on October 7 to celebrate Manufacturing Day and conclude this year's campaign after enjoying record-setting success.

The stop was the second visit by I Make America to a Caterpillar facility this year, following a trip to the manufacturer's Lafayette, Indiana facility earlier this summer.

The two-day event at Caterpillar covered four facilities on the company's campus, and gave employees a chance to learn about the importance of manufacturing issues leading up to Election Day on November 8. In addition to playing the I Make America game and learning about issues that affect equipment manufacturers, Caterpillar workers also had a chance to hear from Iraq War veteran and motivational speaker Jacob Schick.

"I can't think of any better place to spend the week encompassing National Manufacturing Day than Caterpillar - our industry leader and a global icon in equipment manufacturing," said Megan Tanel, AEM senior vice president, exhibitions and events, during some remarks to employees. "I want to thank Caterpillar for their tremendous leadership on behalf of the entire manufacturing industry."

The visit to Caterpillar concludes the portion of the I Make America tour that includes the truck and smartphone game.
