HDD AcademyAEM is a proud supporter and sponsor of the annual Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Academy, and the association is confident that industry professionals will find this one-of-a-kind learning opportunity to be invaluable.

Additionally, AEM’s sponsorship includes a $300 discount to AEM members that register and enroll for the program.

Going to a new location this year, the two-day intensive course is taking place at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona on Feb. 10-11. The program highlights horizontal directional drilling pre-construction, design and material selection, construction and operations. The course features Dr. Samuel “Dr. Sam” Ariaratnam, a greatly respected industry leader, professor and chair for the construction engineering program at Arizona State University.

“AEM is again pleased to participate in the HDD Academy as a supporting organization; the HDD industry is growing rapidly and is unique in increasing productivity, reducing environmental impact and enhancing the safety of underground utility excavation,” said AEM Technical and Safety Services Manager William “Bernie” Bernhard. “If you want to stay on top of the HDD industry or build on your underground utility excavation skills, then the HDD Academy is a must for owners, operators and the entire utility excavation industry.”

HDD Academy is operated by Benjamin Media through the Arizona State University, Del E. Webb School of Construction. To view the agenda, list of speakers and to register, visit hddacademy.com. AEM members who attend are eligible for discounted registration.

AEM’s underground utility awareness campaign promotes safety and damage prevention with best-practices resources available online. Several AEM equipment operating safety manuals specifically cover underground excavation.
