IFPEThe equipment manufacturing industry looks forward to a certain large show held every three years in Las Vegas, anxiously awaiting the opportunity to gather together and discuss the future of… fluid power and motion control.

You thought I was going to say “construction equipment,” didn’t you?

There’s really no show quite like the International Fluid Power Exposition (IFPE). That's because no other show brings as many sectors of the fluid power, power transmission and motion control industries together in one place at the same time. IFPE sits on the second floor of the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, surrounded by CONEXPO-CON/AGG, the largest construction equipment trade show in the Western Hemisphere.

The show brings together a truly unique combination of engineers and executives – both in booths and aisles – to share ideas, educate one another, and ultimately shape the future of the construction industry through collaboration and consensus. In short, IFPE is the show for people who build the equipment that builds.

Though IFPE shares space with its co-located big brother, it differs in that IFPE features products and technology well beyond the needs of the OEMs who produce the equipment on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

Products and services seen at IFPE extend to all sectors using fluid power, power transmission and motion control technologies. It’s why you’ll meet engineers who design equipment for a wide range of applications – everything from agriculture and medicine to aerospace and automotive. Even engineers involved in the design and development of amusement park rides can be found on the IFPE show floor.

It's also not uncommon to see engineers from different divisions of the same company in attendance at IFPE. For example, one group of engineers may be shopping for hydrostatic drives to power a new loader, while others are searching for hydraulic or pneumatic factory automation solutions to help build it.

When it comes down to it, IFPE is all about helping manufacturers find solutions, and what better place than the industry’s greatest fact-to-face gathering. In 2020, IFPE will be hosting a new networking reception for engineers and executives, right on the show floor to further enhance those connections.

IFPE’s Fluid Power Hour Reception, presented by Bosch Rexroth, is slated for Wednesday, March 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the IFPE show floor. It’s an event not to be missed, as it serves as the perfect opportunity for members to bring their top engineers and executives to mingle with their peers in the IFPE aisles.

Not to be overlooked, IFPE 2020’s education show program includes both college courses and timely sessions to help engineers stay on top of their game. New for the upcoming show is the opportunity to mix and match IFPE sessions with those offered through CONEXPO-CON/AGG, giving those in attendance an even greater value for their education dollar.

Advancements in technology are having a transformative impact on our world, and the needs, wants and priorities of equipment end users are always changing. That’s why it’s so important to come together at a uniquely valuable trade show like IFPE. There’s simply no better place to build momentum for the future of the fluid power, power transmission and motion control industries, as well as shape the design and development of the products of tomorrow.
