KinzeOn Wednesday, April 24, AEM is going on the road to Williamsburg, Iowa for a town hall event on the impact of tariffs on Iowa companies and manufacturers. AEM President Dennis Slater will moderate an expert-filled panel featuring U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), which will be streamed live on AEM’s Facebook page from KINZE Manufacturing.

Wednesday’s discussion will start at 12:15 p.m. CST and focus on the impact of tariffs on the Iowa businesses, families, workers, and farmers, as well as trade policy solutions better equipped at tackling our nation’s trade deficit without hurting our workers and the broader U.S. economy.

The event is part of a series of town halls organized by Tariffs Hurt the Heartland, a grassroots coalition campaigning against tariffs implemented by the Trump administration which AEM joined in 2018. Last October, AEM co-hosted a similar town hall at Husco International in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Next week’s town hall will feature remarks and a discussion by:

  • U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa)
  • Dennis Slater, President, Association of Equipment Manufacturers
  • Angela Marshall Hofmann, Executive Co-Director, Farmers for Free Trade
  • Richard Dix, Senior Director Supply Chain, KINZE Manufacturing, Inc.
  • Jeff Quint, Owner and Founder of Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery
  • Pam Johnson, Corn and soybean farmer (past president of NCGA)
  • Barbra Solberg, Public Policy Strategist, Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance
