Manufacturing Days events can boost workforce developmentA new study says hosting a Manufacturing Day event at your company’s facility can boost your workforce development efforts among students.

According to consulting firm Deloitte LLP, 81 percent of students who attended a Manufacturing Day tour or open house said they were more convinced that manufacturing provides a career that is interesting and rewarding.

In addition, Deloitte reported that:

  •          90 percent of students said activities and tours were interesting and engaging
  •          84 percent said they were more aware of manufacturing jobs in their community
  •          62 percent said they were more motivated to pursue a career in manufacturing

AEM Supports Manufacturing Day

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event, executed at the local level. It supports thousands of manufacturers across the nation as they host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. 

This year, Manufacturing Day is set for October 7th. AEM will celebrate the day with I Make America tour events at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria, Illinois, and CLAAS of America in Omaha, Nebraska.
