Account Success Advisor

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is hiring an Account Success Advisor! We are looking to connect with driven, client-focused professionals who would enjoy variety and challenge within our Member & Exhibitor Success Team (MEST). This position will leverage effective relationship building to manage accounts and serve as a point of contact for membership.

Responsibilities: 
Manage and grow a defined sales territory

  • Serve as the primary contact for membership, exhibition sales, and sponsorships.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales and travel plans tailored to top prospects and current member engagement.
  • Visit member facilities in-person, build relationships, and increase visibility.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, provide education and support to members and exhibitors, and troubleshoot across departments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date member and exhibitor records in CRM system, including notes, leads, and engagement activity.
Drive member engagement and retention 
  • Create customized engagement roadmaps for individual member companies, fostering deeper relationships, and aligning AEM offerings with their unique needs.
  • Support onboarding efforts for new members and board participants, ensuring a smooth and informative introduction to AEM.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, staying informed on industry trends and communicating insights across the organization.
Sales & Prospecting
  • Lead sales efforts for AEM tradeshows and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational goals and member interests.
  • Conduct proactive prospecting of potential members and exhibitors through industry research, publications, and event participation.
  • Assist with collections related to membership, tradeshows, and sponsorships in coordination with the accounting team.
Events & Trade Shows
  • Represent AEM at industry events and trade shows.
 
Requirements:  
A successful candidate will hold at minimum an Associate’s degree in a business-related field and will have 2-3 years of relevant experience in a sales or account advising role. Past association or trade show sales experience preferred. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb relationship building abilities.
  • Ability to travel 10-15%, including travel/work outside of business hours, depending on annual trade show cycle.
  • Experience in sales, additional experience with exhibitions and trade shows and/or associations preferred.
