AEM’s Brittany Schmidtke is now a PMP-certified professional.

Earners of the globally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) have demonstrated their extensive knowledge and mastery of project management concepts, tasks, and techniques that are applicable to every industry. Individuals that earn this certification have demonstrated the knowledge and skills needed to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close a project.

“My first job out of college was a middle school educator,” said Schmidtke, who now works as AEM’s World of Asphalt & AGG1 Show Director. “AEM President Megan Tanel, who was SVP of Exhibitions at the time, saw my potential and I started my career as a project coordinator of exhibitions, working under Lydia Riesch. I feel I owe a great deal of my success to these two women, as they inspired me and guided me on my project management journey.”

Schmidtke arrived at AEM in 2016 as a project coordinator before being promoted to her current position as Director of World of Asphalt & AGG1. In her current role, she oversees all functional areas of World of Asphalt & AGG1 show management and oversees strategic projects and initiatives for AEM’s robust trade show offerings. Brittany graduated from Carroll College and has been with AEM for eight and a half years.
