Dozens of congressional leaders joined AEM for the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall. Equipment manufacturers are in Washington, D.C. this week to showcase the latest innovations and drive home the importance of pro-manufacturing policies.
This year equipment manufacturers are bringing state-of-the-art construction equipment to the heart of Washington, D.C., urging policymakers to champion policies that empower America’s equipment manufacturers to do what they do best: invest in their communities, grow their businesses, and hire more Americans.
More than 100 articulated trucks, backhoe loaders, dozers, pavers, engines, excavators, generators, motor graders, skid steer loaders, wheel loaders, aerial work platforms, and more lined the National Mall, underscoring the industry’s commitment to working with Congress and the Trump administration to create an environment where equipment manufacturers can flourish.
“Equipment manufacturers are committed to working with both parties to help implement a comprehensive manufacturing strategy that will create the predictability and certainty needed for our 1,100 member companies to invest, plan and hire in America,” said Kip Eideberg, senior vice president of government and industry relations. “This starts with securing fair and equitable trade deals, but also includes making the 2017 tax reforms permanent, achieving regulatory clarity and consistency, expediting permitting reforms, and strengthening the manufacturing workforce.”
The 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall not only showcases the equipment manufacturing industry’s cutting-edge innovations, workforce development efforts, and sustainability initiatives, but also provides a platform for lawmakers to discuss the commonsense, comprehensive manufacturing needed for equipment manufacturers to plan, grow, and succeed.
“The Association of Equipment Manufacturers supports critical manufacturing and infrastructure projects across Montana that our farmers and ranchers need,” said Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.), who toured the exhibit on Thursday. “I was glad to visit the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall to see the newest innovations from equipment manufacturers firsthand, and I will always fight for pro-business, pro-growth policies that allow our manufacturers to thrive.”
“I had a great time visiting the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall, where I got a firsthand look at the state-of-the-art machines that are shaping the future of domestic manufacturing,” said Representative Andrea Salinas (D-Ore.), who also visited the celebration on Thursday. “As a member of Congress, I am committed to passing policies that support American manufacturers and create good-paying jobs here at home. I truly appreciated the opportunity to see some of that work in action today.”
“There is no better time than Infrastructure Week to showcase what it takes to build our vast infrastructure network, and I appreciate the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and their member companies for this week’s demonstration of the construction equipment and technology that builds America,” said Representative Sam Graves (R-Mo.), Chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (pictured above with AEM's Chris Hansell in front of the AEM Manufacturing Express), the first member of Congress to tour the exhibit on Wednesday.
“Infrastructure investments create good-paying jobs that cannot be outsourced,” said Representative Rick Larsen (D-Wash.), Ranking Member of the Committee on Transportation and infrastructure. “I was proud to join the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and other industry leaders on the National Mall to celebrate the future of infrastructure.”
Over 40 members of Congress and 100 congressional staff are expected to visit the 2025 Celebration of Construction on the National Mall, which is open to lawmakers, White House officials, trade associations, industry partners, members of the press, as well as the general public. The event runs through Friday, May 16.
