Providing customers with an improved way to access and purchase its Safety Materials headlines the many new features and enhancements of AEM’s newly launched and redesigned online store.
Built on a modern ecommerce platform, AEM’s online store (www.safetymaterials.org) is designed to deliver a more intuitive and streamlined purchasing experience for non-road equipment manufacturers, dealers, rental companies, contractors, and equipment owners to browse and buy the safety resources they rely on each and every day.
“Our newly launched online store offers ready access to AEM Safety Materials, a high-value and economical way our association delivers valuable safety messaging and best practices to equipment operators,” said AEM Vice President of Construction & Utility Sector John Somers. “We’re excited to make it easier than ever before for new and existing customers to find what they need to support safe equipment operation, operator training, and risk management initiatives throughout the industry.”
New enhancements to AEM’s online store include:
- A more intuitive user experience for customers – Not only can customers quickly search for products and navigate categories, but they can also complete transactions through an updated, and mobile-friendly, interface designed with usability in mind.
- Opportunities for AEM to better support the customer experience – Improved back-end data tracking and reporting helps AEM better understand customer needs, purchasing trends, product performance, and more.
- Improved flexibility and scalability – The new website infrastructure creates opportunities for AEM to introduce new products, services, educational resources, and member offerings through a centralized ecommerce experience. As AEM’s needs evolve over time, the platform can adapt to new business requirements and meet customer expectations.
- Increased support of AEM’s vision – By combining an improved customer experience with enhanced data capabilities and future-ready technology, AEM is working to position itself to better serve members and customers for years to come.
Educating Operators and Reducing Risk
AEM’s Safety Materials are consensus documents that are developed, reviewed, and approved by AEM member companies organized by AEM, and they represent best practices for the industry. The safety materials include manuals for more than 50 specific pieces of equipment, and they extend to additional collateral (such as videos, brochures, decals, and training kits).
In many cases, a manual is often assigned a part number in a manufacturer’s production process to ensure it is included with other safety literature when the equipment is sold into market. This integration with the manufacturing process strengthens AEM member companies in their risk management programs.
“The AEM equipment manuals are valuable companion documents used in conjunction with OEMs’ Operation and Maintenance Manuals,” said AEM Senior Director of Safety Materials Jaime Vos. “They reinforce safety messages in a slightly different presentation style to provide equipment operators information on safe practices to use when operating and maintaining machinery. Ultimately, it’s a prime example of industry working together to enhance safety on our members’ equipment.”
In addition, AEM is working in the future to increase the reach of its Safety Material programs with its free online safety toolkit. Already, a number of schools, construction companies, and rental businesses use AEM safety manuals and the toolkit as part of their safety training programs.
