Ad CampaignAEM has launched a significant six-figure advertising campaign thanking House Democrats and Republicans who voted for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (commonly referred to as the “bipartisan infrastructure bill”) and highlighting the benefits of the once-in-a-generation investment in the nation’s infrastructure.

“These lawmakers put policy ahead of politics and delivered a resounding victory for the American people,” said Kip Eideberg, AEM senior vice president of government and industry relations. “The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will generate historic investments in our transportation, water, energy, and communications systems and drive long-term economic growth and prosperity for our nation. The deliberate conflation of the bipartisan infrastructure bill with the Build Back Better Act is confusing voters and fueling dangerous levels of hyper-partisanship. The lawmakers who voted for the bipartisan infrastructure bill did the right thing for America, their constituents, and equipment manufacturers. We will spare no effort to highlight the immeasurable benefits of this historic bill.”

The initial flight of advertising is running in the districts represented by Cindy Axne (D-IA-03), Don Bacon (R-NE-02), Carolyn Bourdeaux (D-GA-07), Angie Craig (D-MN-02), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ-05), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY-11), and Fred Upton (R-MI-06). The ads, which will run on social media channels as well as local and national news sites, highlight how the historic legislation will positively impact urban and rural communities across the country by rebuilding roads and bridges, expanding access to clean drinking water, ensuring Americans have access to high-speed internet, and making long-overdue investments in seaports, airports, and rail.

POLITICO broke the news with a feature piece in POLITICO Influence and CEO Update followed up with a story on the advertising campaign. “We chose these eight [lawmakers] for the first round because they have drawn anger and threats from misinformed constituents, they have been threatened with primary challenges from opportunistic and extremist would-be lawmakers, and they represent the commonsense, bipartisan wings of the two political parties,” Eideberg told POLITICO.

AEM plans to expand the advertising campaign to include additional Democratic and Republican lawmakers in the weeks ahead.

AEM applauded the signing of the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act by President Biden, noting that: “the 2.8 million men and women of the equipment manufacturing industry are ready to get to work and ensure that this historic investment ushers in a new era of economic prosperity for all Americans.” According to a recent report by IHS Markit, the legislation can create more than 100,000 family-sustaining equipment manufacturing jobs before the end of President Biden’s first term in office.
