The AEM Manufacturing Express is set to hit the road again this summer, making its way across Texas in August. Building on the success of last year’s tour, this interactive mobile initiative celebrates the essential role of the U.S. equipment manufacturing industry and highlights the contributions of the 2.3 million men and women who help build, power, and feed the world.

Last year, the AEM Manufacturing Express made over 80 stops across 20 states, visiting influential equipment manufacturing facilities in the Midwest, South, and Mid-Atlantic regions. The tour engaged communities, showcased local manufacturing success stories, and highlighted the cutting-edge innovations driving the industry forward. At each stop, the tour provided an immersive experience featuring interactive games, thought leadership discussions, giveaways, food, and entertainment.

A defining feature of the tour was its robust engagement with policymakers. The Manufacturing Express hosted over 100 lawmakers at the local, state, and federal levels, fostering critical dialogue on the role of equipment manufacturing in the U.S. economy and infrastructure. The tour facilitated meaningful discussions on pro-manufacturing policies and helped advance AEM’s advocacy goals by showcasing the industry’s impact on local communities and the national economy.

Telling the Story of American Manufacturing

Beyond policy advocacy, the AEM Manufacturing Express is dedicated to telling the story of the men and women who build, power, and feed the world. The tour celebrates the grit, determination, and innovation of equipment manufacturers who contribute to building modern infrastructure, powering vital public services, and feeding communities nationwide. By sharing personal stories and showcasing state-of-the-art technologies, the Manufacturing Express illustrates how the industry impacts every aspect of American life.

“The AEM Manufacturing Express is about celebrating the people behind the machines and services our industry provides,” said Megan Tanel, AEM President. It’s about honoring the hard work and ingenuity of the men and women who make our industry strong. This summer, as we travel through Texas, we are not just showcasing equipment -- we are telling the stories of communities, families, and innovators who power our nation. I am excited to see how this tour continues to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.”

Raising Awareness for 2025 Policy Priorities

This year, the AEM Manufacturing Express will play an integral role in raising awareness for AEM’s 2025 policy priorities, including infrastructure investment, workforce development, supply chain resilience, and trade expansion. By visiting manufacturers across Texas, the tour aims to highlight how these priorities impact the industry’s growth, job creation, and innovation.

“The AEM Manufacturing Express is more than just a bus; it’s a platform for amplifying the voices of equipment manufacturers, said Kip Eideberg, AEM Senior Vice President of Government and Industry Relations. This year, we are focused on advancing our 2025 policy priorities and ensuring that policymakers understand the crucial role our industry plays in powering the U.S. economy. By connecting with communities and lawmakers, we are advocating for policies that drive growth, create jobs, and strengthen America’s global competitiveness.”

Upcoming Stops and Special Appearances

The AEM Manufacturing Express will begin its Texas tour in August, engaging local communities, manufacturers, and policymakers to showcase the industry’s impact. Before hitting the road in Texas, the Manufacturing Express will be featured at the Celebration of Construction on the National Mall in May, offering a platform to highlight the latest innovations in equipment manufacturing. Later in the year, the bus will also make an appearance at the Utility Expo, connecting with industry leaders and the public.
