Colorful illustrated figures holding hands in a repeating pattern, symbolizing collaboration, connection, and community. On June 24, 2026, Venezuela was struck by two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, causing widespread destruction across the country. The disaster has resulted in thousands of casualties, extensive infrastructure damage, and significant humanitarian needs as communities work to recover and rebuild.

As an industry built on resilience, innovation, and a commitment to helping communities recover, AEM encourages member companies to consider supporting ongoing relief and recovery efforts in Venezuela.

“The non-road equipment manufacturing industry has always stepped up during times of crisis,” said Megan Tanel, AEM president and CEO. “As communities across Venezuela begin the difficult process of recovery, our members have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through equipment support, technical expertise, and financial contributions. Together, we can help restore critical infrastructure, accelerate recovery efforts, and provide hope to those who have been impacted by this devastating disaster.”

Equipment and Recovery Support Needed

The non-road equipment manufacturing industry has a long history of playing a critical role in disaster response. As rescue operations transition to debris removal, infrastructure restoration, and rebuilding efforts, equipment and expertise can make a meaningful difference.

AEM members may wish to explore opportunities to support recovery efforts through:

  • Mobilization or donation of construction and earthmoving equipment
  • Donation of generators, pumps, lighting systems, and other essential recovery equipment
  • Technical expertise and operator support where appropriate
  • Partnerships with humanitarian organizations coordinating on-the-ground recovery activities
  • Financial contributions to trusted relief organizations supporting affected communities

How to Help

While the immediate rescue phase continues, humanitarian organizations emphasize that flexible financial donations remain one of the most effective ways to support affected communities. Monetary contributions allow relief agencies to procure supplies locally, respond quickly to evolving needs, and support long-term recovery efforts.

For companies interested in providing equipment donations or logistical support, it is important to coordinate directly with established relief organizations to ensure equipment and resources are deployed efficiently and where they are most needed.

AEM encourages member companies to evaluate how they can contribute—whether through equipment support, logistics assistance, technical expertise, or financial donations. Every contribution can help bring critical relief to individuals, families, and communities affected by this devastating disaster.

Together, the equipment manufacturing industry can help Venezuela begin the difficult, but essential, work of recovery and rebuilding.
