The 2019 editions of the International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE), now known as The Utility Expo, and the World of Asphalt Show and Conference/AGG1 Academy recently received notable recognitions from Trade Show Executive.

ICUEE added more square feet of exhibits and displays than any other trade show in 2019 accordingly to Trade Show Executive’s COVID-delayed Gold 100 awards and the Fastest 50 Awards that also recognized the 2019 edition with a number of other accolades including “The Greatest Trade Show of 2019.”  Meanwhile, World of Asphalt was named to the “Fastest 50” growing shows.

“I’m so proud of this team and what we accomplished,” said AEM’s Rozum, show director for The Utility Expo. “AEM is continuously working with its exhibitors and attendees to create best-in-class events in the industries they serve. This recognition is validation that we’re headed in the right direction.

The Utility Expo, then known as ICUEE, was also recognized as:

  • Largest Non-Annual Show of 2019 (by exhibit space)
  • Fastest-Growing Non-AnnualGold 100 Show of 2019 (by exhibit space – sheer numbers)
  • Fastest-Growing Show in Sheer Numbers in Net Square Feet in 2019

World of Asphalt Show & Conference was ultimately recognized as:

  • #21 in Percentage of Growth in Total Attendance
  • #34 in Percentage of Growth in Number of Exhibiting Companies
  • #96 in Percentage of Growth in Net Square Feet

We’re very proud of the success we experienced with World of Asphalt’s last in-person show in Indianapolis,” said World of Asphalt Show Manager Brittany Weltcheff. “This, combined with the success of the World of Asphalt People, Plants & Paving Digital Conference held last month makes us all the more excited as we gear up for 2022 when we move to the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.”

The 2021 show, originally planned for the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, was converted into an all-digital conference in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and asphalt paving professionals can still access the education content, and professional development hours, on-demand at

The next World of Asphalt Show and Conference and AGG1 Academy opens March 29-31 in Nashville. Registration opens in October.

Meanwhile, Trade Show Executive already recognized ICUEE 2019 as one of their “Fastest 50” growing trade shows, and earned the #2 spot on Trade Show News Network’s Top Trade Shows” list for 2019.

And with space sales for the 2021 show, scheduled for Sept. 28-30 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky, exceeding the 2019 show, Utility Expo organizers are excited to bring manufacturers and equipment end users together to showcase the latest utility industry innovations.

“With our new outdoor layout, bigger displays, and a lot of pent-up demand, 2021 is going to be one for the record books,” said Rozum. “The outstanding team that created ‘The Greatest Trade Show in 2019’ is hard at work to bring the industry back together in September.”
