IFPE 2023

By John Rozum, IFPE 2023 Show Director —

There’s really no trade show quite like the International Fluid Power Exposition (IFPE).

It’s been three long years since the many sectors of the fluid power, power transmission and motion control industries last gathered to share ideas and perspectives on how to shape the future of the construction industry by building the equipment that builds.

I know I’m not only speaking for myself when I say I can’t wait to see all the IFPE exhibitors and attendees back together in Las Vegas March 14-18. So many people either saw the 2020 show cut short, or they missed it altogether, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, it comes as no surprise to me that I hear nothing but enthusiasm and excitement for the 2023 show and what it offers in terms of the latest and greatest in fluid power, power transmission and motion control technologies.

With the show just weeks away, we’re on target to see more companies showcasing more new products and services than ever before. So much of what will be showcased focuses on motion control and electrification coming to the industry, and I can’t wait for the show’s attendees to be able to see it all, up close and personal, and hear how it will ultimately impact the end pieces of equipment.

Though IFPE shares its show space with CONEXPO-CON/AGG, it differs in that IFPE features products and technology well beyond the needs of the OEMs who produce the equipment on display at its co-located “big brother” show. What really makes IFPE unique and valuable are the engineers who design a wide range of applications that are on display at the show – agriculture, industrial, aerospace and automotive and more.

As technology continues to advance, the work being conducted by the fluid power, power transmission and motion control industries evolves and grows with it. And, as we continue to travel down a road toward widespread electrification in a variety of industries, exactly how fluid power and other components will integrate, not to mention sensors and motion control, will be critical toward determining how equipment functions in the future. But if one thing’s for certain, it’s this: The industry is advancing quickly, and new trends like electrification – not to mention AI and machine learning controls, factory digital twins and more – are making more and more of an impact over time.

That’s why the time is right for us to gather once again at IFPE. I can’t put into words just how much I’m looking forward to seeing a full exhibit hall and a packed show floor. Because, ultimately, it’s the networking that makes a show like IFPE so special. Simply put, the opportunities to connect with each other, solve shared challenges and build partnerships necessary to adapt and evolve the power solutions of the future are second-to-none.

So, with all that being said, I encourage are exhibitors and attendees to stay in the know as the days tick down to IFPE 2023. Also, attendees should be sure to join me for the Fluid Power Hour Networking Reception, set for Wednesday, March 15 from 4-6 p.m. on the second floor of the South Hall. This exclusive event is not to be missed, as it will have complimentary drinks and Vegas-themed entertainment across the show floor.

Advancements in technology are having a transformative impact on our world, and the needs, wants and priorities of equipment end users are always changing. That’s why it’s so important to come together at a uniquely valuable trade show like IFPE. There’s simply no better place to build momentum for the future of the fluid power, power transmission and motion control industries, as well as shape the design and development of the products of tomorrow.
