One Voice for Equipment ManufacturingBy Megan Tanel, AEM President

Happy New Year! As we transition into 2022, I know you have unique goals to focus on and priorities to address as you start this new year. And as I step into my new role as president of AEM, my first priority is to thank you for your membership. So, I thank you, and I look forward to a long and productive relationship.

Our members have weathered what may feel like a few storms as of late, but I hope you and your company are coming through it all successfully. The AEM staff is ready to start the year with a renewed focus on our 2022 strategic priorities and an appreciation for the engagement and support we continue to receive from the membership.

Our AEM Board of Directors met late last year at our Annual Conference to review and approve these 2022 priorities, which support AEM’s 4-Year Strategic Plan Goals:

  • Build positive perception of our industry.
  • Accelerate industry growth.
  • Support and empower member company decision-making.
  • Facilitate members’ customer-facing efforts.

We are firmly committed to building upon all of our past accomplishments and executing a Strategic Plan that will ensure the long-term future of our association. Our ability to achieve what we want to accomplish will come down to how successful we are at being a voice for our industry, how well we spread the message of equipment manufacturing’s role in making the equipment that builds our communities and feeds our world, and how effectively we communicate the industry’s contributions to the overall economic well-being of our country.

And while our industry continues to be faced with some uncertainty, COVID-19 challenges, workforce issues, and more, ultimately I believe our best days are ahead. That’s because, as we collaborate together in support of equipment manufacturing and the markets it serves, we speak with one voice to address any and all challenges we face head on and build positive perception of our industry.

AEM is your association, and we’re working for you! So, with that fact in mind, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or visit our offices in Milwaukee or Washington D.C. when you’re in town. You are welcome to meet with the team, ask questions, and learn more about how we can support you.

Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
