Plugfest 2017As precision farming technology grows in importance for producers, so do the semi-annual Plugfest events that help manufacturers determine if their offerings are compatible with others in the industry.

Plugfests are held every spring and fall, alternately in the U.S. and Europe. These events serve as valuable opportunities for event attendees to assess tractor-implement compatibility (no matter what the brand), in an effort to improve overall customer satisfaction.

The Autumn 2017 Ag Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) Plugfest event is slated for October 16-20 at the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany. Advanced registration as a participant or visitor is required to attend all or part of the Plugfest.

Activities scheduled for the upcoming event include:

  •          Plugfest Testing – October 17-19
  •          AEF Conference Day – October 18-19
  •          Numerous project team meetings – October 20

Registration for the Autumn 2017 Plugfest will open July 25 and close on or about September 8. Those planning to participate in testing activities, or attend as a visitors, should take a moment to confirm their AEF ISOBUS Database login credentials at

AEF membership is required for participant registration and applies to anyone who is directly or indirectly involved with testing activities. Visitor registration (for both members and non-members) is available to those who are observing the activities and are not involved in testing.

AEF will prepare a text matrix of equipment connections for the Autumn Plugfest. The test matrix is a schedule of connections between each service-type product (e.g. terminals) and each client-type product (e.g. implement controllers) for a fixed amount of time. To be included in the text matrix, participants must register equipment details by completing an Equipment Registration Form online within the AEF ISOBUS Database following event registration. Participants will have an opportunity to review the text matrix in early August before it is finalized.
