EPAOn Feb. 28, AEM hosted key policymakers from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) for a tour highlighting modern agriculture application tools at the 2020 Commodity Classic in San Antonio, Texas.

OPP Director Rick Keigwin and OPP Deputy Director Ed Messina visited AGCO, Case IH, Climate Corp., Great Plains Ag, Greenleaf Technologies, John Deere, and Topcon Agriculture for in-depth conversations with industry experts on the latest sprayer, planter, nozzle and data management technologies designed to get active ingredients on target in the right amount at the right time.

“These types of educational outreach efforts are vital to help regulators understand how dedicated farmers are to environmental sustainability,” said Nick Tindall, AEM’s senior director of regulatory affairs and ag policy. “We are working diligently with our member companies to ensure our industry is providing the most modernized technology that benefits our environment for future generations of farmers and families.”

The American agricultural community is working with the EPA to ensure current and future regulations empower farmers and ranchers to continue their long and proud history of producing more food with fewer inputs. The National Corn Growers Association and American Soybean Association provided member leaders to give the grower perspective during the tour.
