“Much has been given [to] us, and much will rightfully be expected from us.”
- Inaugural Address, Theodore Roosevelt, March 4, 1905
While a century has passed since President Theodore Roosevelt uttered those words in his second inaugural address, his statement continues to deliver new meaning. With the gradual implementation of the historic $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act known commonly as the “bipartisan infrastructure law (BIL)” starting to take shape, the 2.8 million men and women of the equipment manufacturing industry are ready to get to work and ensure that this once-in-a-generation investment ushers in a new era of economic prosperity for all Americans.
In the coming months, state and local governments, as well as industry stakeholders, will look to the Biden Administration for continued guidance on implementing programs and funding within the wide-ranging $1.2 trillion bill.
AEM has developed a comprehensive resource page to provide members with the most up to date guidance from the Biden Administration, industry insights, and relevant news on the elements of the bill.
Implementation of the bipartisan infrastructure bill includes a five-year reauthorization of surface transportation programs and an investment of $550 billion in new funding for road and bridge repairs, clean water, high speed broadband, public transportation, airports, and cyber security. Funds from the bipartisan infrastructure bill will soon be made available and distributed through existing formula and competitive grant programs. Various federal grant programs have individual parameters and eligibility requirements.
As the Administration announces funding approvals, program updates and grant availability, AEM will update this page to reflect the latest information. Please use this page as a resource as infrastructure spending gets underway, and be sure to reach out to AEM’s Advocacy Team with any questions.
