Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Resources

AEM has led the charge in Washington, D.C. for comprehensive, federal investment in U.S. roads, highways, bridges, broadband networks, electric grids, water and wastewater systems, ports, and inland waterways for decades.

On November 15, 2021, President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) into law. Known commonly as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework (BIF), this long awaited and historic investment of $1.2 trillion will not only help to address our nation’s core infrastructure needs by providing substantial financial resources to states, but also create nearly 500,000 new manufacturing jobs over the next three years, including more than 100,000 high-skilled, family-sustaining jobs in our industry.

Implementation of the BIF includes a five-year reauthorization of surface transportation programs and an investment of $550 billion in new funding for road and bridge repairs, clean water, high speed broadband, public transportation, airports, and cyber security. Funds from the BIF will be made available and distributed through existing formula and competitive grant programs. Various federal grant programs have individual parameters and eligibility requirements.

AEM has collected quality resources, information, and updates about the implementation of the BIF. This site will frequently be updated as funding opportunities are announced, and the country sees this bipartisan legislation come to life.

The effort to upgrade and modernize our infrastructure is just beginning. The 2.8 million men and women of the equipment manufacturing industry are ready to get to work and ensure that this investment ushers in a new era of economic prosperity for all Americans.
